Description
The totem pole at the East Gate of Algonquin Park is a peace and reconciliation totem. It was carved from a massive eastern white pine tree that fell during a storm in 2013 by Dan Bowers, an Algonquin Elder. The totem pole was raised on October 25, 2015, to honour the stories and resilience of Algonquin ancestors and promote peace and reconciliation.
