The Outer Lighthouse Fog Horn in Port Colborne is part of the historic lighthouse complex at the Welland Canal entrance on Lake Erie. It was constructed in 1928 and served as a crucial navigational aid, helping guide ships safely into the canal. The fog horn, along with the lighthouse, played a significant role in maritime safety until modern navigation systems were introduced.
It is still operational, and you can hear the foghorn when the fog rolls in!
