The Viking Octantis, showcased as it approaches Lake Erie via the Welland Canal, is a cutting-edge expedition vessel operated by Viking Cruises. Launched in 2021, it is designed for exploring remote destinations, including Antarctica and the Great Lakes. The ship can accommodate 378 passengers and features advanced scientific research facilities, making it ideal for educational and adventure cruises.

Throughout the summer, both the Octantis and her sister ship, Polaris, regularly dock in Port Colborne.
